This tool automates the installation and configuration tasks for complex Internet connections. Uniformly configure the system, browser, email software, etc.
By storing configuration information for each provider and access point internally, the settings are automatically configured without the user having to input them.
Automatic settings include dial-up PPP connection environment, TCP/IP environment, browser, email environment, news environment, etc.
Basically, the user only needs to enter the following three (or four) things.
- "Select provider/access point"
- "User ID"
- "Password"
- If you have multiple modems/TA devices, click "Select modem/TA device"
If dial-up and TCP/IP are not installed, they will also be installed under this tool. If no modem/TA device is defined, you can use this tool to launch the modem wizard and define the modem. If defined, select from them. (Basically, define the modem in advance.)
Please install browsers such as Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator, email software, and news software before running this tool. This tool automatically detects installed software and displays them. By specifying the software to be configured by the user, the configuration process for those software is performed.
In addition to setting up PAP and CHAP, dial-up authentication can also be set using a dial-up script tool (although I don't think many providers use it). However, if you want to use the dial-up script tool on Windows95, you need to install 95Plus first.
In the Macintosh Classic version, configure TCP/IP, MacTCP settings, OpentransportPPP, FreePPP, and MacPPP settings, as well as browser, email software, and Internet Config settings.
In the MacOSX version, configure settings for TCP/IP, PPP, PPPoE, Internet Explorer, Netscape, Safari, and Mail.
